Made slowly, in small batches, in Westport.

Nordvik Crafts is a workshop and online shop at 3 Quay Street, Westport, Co. Mayo. We make knitwear from Irish and Norwegian wool, linen for the kitchen, and a small run of stoneware, and we post it across Ireland, the UK and the EU.

Who we are

The workshop is run by Ingrid Walsh, who learned to knit in Bergen and moved to Mayo in 2011, and Tom Keane, who throws the stoneware. Four local knitters make most of the scarves and blankets at home and are paid per piece, above the rate the Guild of Knitters recommends.

What we make

Scarves, blankets and a beginner's knitting kit; linen tea towels printed by hand; stoneware mugs in sets of two. Everything is made in batches of twenty to fifty, so some things sell out and come back a few weeks later.

Visit

The workshop is open to visitors Thursday to Saturday, 10:00 to 17:00. You can collect online orders there too.
